I worked nine hours at Starbucks, stopped by a jazz bar, and when I got home there was a giant cockroach. I dropped the protein container, poured body soap on it, and fought a 20-minute battle. I really wanted to save it, but in the end I couldn’t.

Woke up at 12 today. I wanted to go to the gym for the first time in a while, but I had a lot of work so I decided to hole up at Starbucks today. I walked to Starbucks. If I don't exercise I gain weight quickly, so it's important to walk as much as possible.

I tried ordering an affogato at Starbucks. The taste was... awful. It wasn't that rich Japanese vanilla ice cream, but an ice cream the color of Super Cup. I didn't find it tasty at all. That said, I steadily worked through the piled-up tasks. I finally finished work around 9 PM.

Stopped by a jazz bar

On the walk home, I stopped by a nearby jazz bar. It was overflowing with people—definitely a popular spot. There were especially a lot of Western tourists. They might be targeting them, I guess.

A fight to the death with a cockroach

When I got home and was about to write in my diary and study React... there was a cockroach. It was huge.

Killing it felt gross. Memories of dissecting crickets in college came back, so I didn't want to squash it either. I spent about 10 to 20 minutes wondering what to do. The cockroach wouldn't move at all, just twitching its antennae. I actually wanted to save it, but it was still disgusting. Sorry about that, but time was wasting, so I decided to drop a protein container on it from above to crush it.

I nervously checked its position and dropped the protein container. But it fell a little sideways and toppled over. Seeing the cockroach trapped under the protein case, I let out a 'uaaahhh' sound. It was still alive. I tried to crush it with the protein, but my hands were shaking and I moved it too much, and the cockroach started moving. Its vitality was insane. It walked as if its legs were sprained and even flipped over along the way. Its legs were disgusting.

Thinking this was my chance, I poured a ton of body wash on it. After about five minutes it stopped moving. No reaction even when I shook it more and more. Cockroach extermination complete.

I put it in a bag, picked the cockroach up with a plastic fork, and left it far outside the room. My heart was pounding. It was unbelievably awful.
