I didn't know how to open the door.
The new hostel, Mussica hostel. I didn't know the entrance code, so I called on WhatsApp. The person who came to meet me had the vibe of a band member.
Nervous new hostel
In the morning, after checking out of Fabrica I joined a meeting on the sofa. I spent time chatting at a study group, and headed to Mussica hostel to match the 3:00 check-in time. It's near Freedom Square, so from now on I can explore this area.
As the name suggests, Mussica hostel has a piano and is a musical hostel. At the reception there was pop art of Mozart, various postcards were displayed, and it was really stylish.
When I showed my passport at the reception, he was like "Ooo, from Japan!" and was very surprised, and he said, "I like Japan!" He called me Kota. He was really kind. He showed me each place one by one: the toilet, the shower, the kitchen, and even the bed. After all, the first place always makes you really nervous. That unique anxiety when you jump into a new environment. Going in alone among strangers. But encounters only happen beyond that nervousness.
Welcome wine and the sound of the piano

While I was resting a bit in my bed, I heard the piano. When I went to see, the receptionist was playing. They were giving Saperavi wine as a welcome wine for free, so I ordered the wine. While drinking it, I listened to his piano. I didn't know what song it was, but it was truly wonderful.
Apparently he plays guitar and sings, and working at the hostel is a hobby. His main job is a video editor. What a cool profession. We talked for about 30 minutes. He said he wants to work in England in the future. When he was trying to work in Turkey for four months, he really struggled to find work because of passport procedures and the conservative atmosphere. Some people even said his achievements must be lies. I thought that the difficulty of chasing a dream is the same even when the country is different.
The night I played Howl's Moving Castle.
I took a turn playing the piano. Howl's Moving Castle, Laputa, Taylor's new song, Country Roads, Christmas songs. He was really surprised and kept recording with his camera. As expected from a video editor, he knew well how to shoot footage. I was very nervous, but gradually got used to it and was able to play nicely.
I was really glad to be able to play the piano for the first time in a while. Since it's a music hostel after all. I really wanted to become friends with him. If I ever have any trouble with video stuff I'd like to commission him. He really knows video editing well, and everything felt cool.
A new hostel where I didn't even know how to open the door. But, triggered by the sound of the piano, my nerves gradually eased. Jumping into a new place is scary. But if you don't jump in, encounters like this won't happen.
