I train every muscle group in a four-hour gym session, can't tell what the famous shop's khao man gai tastes like, and I ran into a Tanabata festival in Chiang Mai. More than sightseeing, it's the feeling of improving every day within my routine. That is the greatest pleasure for me right now.

I woke up at 9:30 today. I hurried to take a shower and went to check breakfast, but all they had were slices of bread and oatmeal. Disappointed, I thought, "whatever," and made protein to take to the gym. I dissolved the powder using a teapot and poured it into a PET bottle. I found a pretty good method.

Four hours attacking every muscle group

I walked to the gym hungry. On the way I bought two bananas at a convenience store to refuel. Today is an aggressive day. Back, chest, shoulders, arms, abs, stretching — I did it all.

I ended up spending about four hours at the gym. Because I did so many different exercises, I can definitely feel my muscles coming in. Above all, I'm happiest that I can keep this up.

Chiang Mai's famous khao man gai

After finishing at the gym, I walked to a khao man gai shop famous in Chiang Mai. It's a popular place with over 3,000 reviews. When I went there were a ton of people and I thought, wow, it's really something.

When I actually ate it, to be honest I couldn't tell what was different at all. Khao man gai everywhere is tasty and I couldn't tell the difference in flavor. I wondered why it's so popular.

I took a motorbike taxi back to the hostel and took a short nap. After training for four hours, I naturally got sleepy. I was actually happy about that.

Tanabata festival in Chiang Mai

On the way to Starbucks there was a Tanabata festival. It was the Japanese Tanabata, and some people were writing tanzaku (wish strips) and hanging them up. It's pretty interesting that Chiang Mai has something like this. There were also several tanzaku written in Japanese, and I was surprised there are Japanese people here — I hadn't met a single Japanese person in Chiang Mai until now.

After eating khao man gai at a nearby diner, I went to Starbucks. That was my second serving of khao man gai today. It's already become an everyday meal.

Growth within routine

Today I'm at a Starbucks Reserve that's open until midnight, writing in my journal and doing work. I ordered decaf & no sugar and am studying React.

Lately I go out less and just feel like I'm following a routine. But this is exactly what makes me grow, and I'm actually enjoying this more. Being able to feel myself improving every day is undeniably a pleasure for me.

I suddenly realized that the people I'm attracted to have something in common: 'people who are human, awkward, and genuine.' In addition, 'those with a high aesthetic sense who are elegant.' It's an interesting discovery that, while traveling, my preferences and values are being verbalized like this.
