The day I experienced Georgian art at Tbilisi MOMA and photographed the Christmas illuminations from a taxi

Finally, I went to Tbilisi MOMA. The moment I stepped through the entrance I was amazed by its scale. All the staircases were transparent, and the view was beautiful.

Georgian art

I bought an admission ticket at the front desk. 18 lari. It was overwhelmingly cheaper than the digital art museum. The structure felt taller rather than wider — five floors in total. There were stairs and an elevator in the center, with art displayed around them.

There were really a lot of interesting works. Georgian pieces, how should I put it, portray people in a peculiar way — like inhabitants of an ancient village. They’re cheerful, yet there’s also a dark gloom. I had an image of an old person struggling to carry cheap wine in an orange ceramic barrel. It's really hard to put into words. But anyway, it was fascinating.

There were Cubist works, geometric art reminiscent of Kandinsky, and many pieces symbolizing the beauty of women. They depicted the curves of women well and used shadows to give a three-dimensional effect. Very beautiful.

The Museum Cafe

After staying at the museum for about an hour, I went to the cafe I had been curious about — a cafe called The Museum. Like the museum, artworks were displayed there and it was full of various objects.

I ordered New York cheesecake and a cappuccino. 1,260 yen. It was certainly expensive, but being able to work in such a nice place made me really happy. I worked for a long time and wrote in my journal.

I thought about it again. I don't know how long this will last. But if I don't keep learning and continually update myself, I'll gradually disappear. Going to museums in Tbilisi and working while eating cheesecake in stylish cafes — this everyday life was pure happiness for me.

Illuminations from the taxi

I wanted to film the nighttime illuminations from a taxi, so I hailed one just past Freedom Square. I opened the window and filmed for three minutes. It was really beautiful — illuminations as gorgeous as at USJ.

Christmas in Tbilisi is really the best. Extremely romantic. Paired with the music from The Polar Express, it made a perfect video. I posted it on Instagram.

I ate sushi at the Galleria. About six pieces of salmon for 1,200 yen. Really expensive. The taste was decent, but it's best in Japan. The Philadelphia roll was insanely good.
